Kargil Vijay Divas - Heroes Never Die!

Kargil Vijay Divas

remembering the martyrs who gave their lives (to lost causes?)

We've been run down every hill
Chased up all the dead end streets
But if you try to cut us out
You'll get a kick in the teeth

Still alive, blood of heroes
Never die, they never die
Blood of heroes

----Megadeth - Blood Of Heroes

R.I.P Dimebag Darrell

This post was long overdue

Dimebag Darrell

There is nothing unique or clever to this post, and what I want to say has no doubt already been said throughout the metal community, by countless others and metal fans and the like.

Nevertheless, Dime, you are dearly missed every time we crank up that Pantera / Damgeplan record.

Deep Purple-Smoke on Water

Deep Purple Smoke on Water
Correct:
We all came out to Montreux
On the lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didn’t have much time
Frank zappa and the mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground

Misheard:
We all came down to mourn Trow
On the late Jennifer show time
To burn crackers on a bovine
We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa and the mongrels
Were at the best place o' hound
Some stupid with the flame gone
Burned the place to the ground

Megadeth Bangalore Tour

So its sort of confirmed. ( Dave has denied it though) That Dave Mustaine is making a stopover in Bangalore on his tour, somewhere in October. This is one event the rattleheads of the city will be looking forward to. Megadeth will be the first genuine metal act to rock India, as far as my memory flies. (pardon me, hombre). The event is being managed by Opium events. ( Ya, them of shoddy handling of Joe Satriani) i missed it, though

Megadeth is Dave Mustaine's answer to the once trash monsters/ now losers, called as Metallica.Mustaine has written quite many Metallica songs, especially Leper Messiah, Master of Puppets; or so do the fans claim and accuse Metallica of stealing the works. Dave's riffs can be found on the Megadeth/Metallica pairs"Mechanix"/"The Four Horsemen" and "Hangar 18"/"The Call of Ktulu".

Megadeth has largely been a solo effort, with an ever changing line-up of galaxy of stars, each one subtly influencing the band's sound. Most of the artists would'nt label their efforts as solo, as that would hinder/hamper the commercial success of a record. A band's name, the image it conjures up, the sound, the moods it invokes all provide the ingredients for a bestseller recipe. Add to it the apocalyptic mascot Vic Rattlehead mocking at the record co corporates. A band has greater mass appeal than a solo act and enjoys an edge in live show sellouts. [ some other 'solo' bands: Tony Iommi held the reins of Black Sabbath in place, after Ozzy's exit. Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters too is much of a solo project .]

Megadeth's slap in the face record titles - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?, So Far, So good, So what, The System Has Failed etc, carry a message with liberal-democratic leanings.
He has changed his stance now, though.

you know the sleeping feel no more pain, and the living are scarred. Thus spake Dave Mustaine.

This post is a red herring; not meant to be post on the blog
